Larry Joe Taylor, meet Cowboy Militia
They say Larry Joe Taylor's annual Texas Music Festival is "original, costal and western," and that just about covers CM, too.
In fact, at Cowboy Militia, we hit the ground running as a sponsor. We're proud to be part of an outdoor festival that started in 1989 with hot chili, cold drinks and cool Texas Music. Twenty years later, the LJT Fest April 21-25 in the hills surrounding the "Cowboy Capital of the World" - Stephenville - was still rocking, and we were there with a booth and a craving for what's been ranked one of the top four music festivals in Texas.
Five days isn't nearly enough to get your fill of the likes of Cross Canadian Ragweed, the Randy Rogers Band, Jason Boland, and many, many more, not to mention veterans like Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard. We, in particular, are pretty partial to the Josh Abbott Band and the Kyle Bennett Band and... well, we could go on.
Sort of like the pure appreciation a cowboy has for the friendships and memories he makes campin,' a picker like Wade Bowen knows a good music festival is the same. He put it best when he called the LJT Fest a "great time filled with great people who truly appreciate music for all the right reasons."
