Watch Shane Proctor ride for the Militia in Vegas!
It's a special breed of cat that makes the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, and our newest Pro Team member, Shane Proctor of Grand Coulee, Wash., is among those top 40 in the world. He joins names like Guilherme Marchi, Chris Shivers, Mike Lee and more world champions starting Friday in Las Vegas, after raking in $109,694 this year.
Proctor, 24, topped his first sheep at the tender age of 3 and followed that up riding calves and later steers. He actually competed in all six rodeo events in high school-bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and team roping. He was the Washington High School All-Around Champion in 2003, which helped him obtain a rodeo scholarship at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo.
His career highlights include an emotional 91-point winning trip in Yakima, Wash., a few years ago on a bull that was renamed Stoney after it had killed his high school buddy Anthony ("Stoney") Covington. You can watch Shane Proctor try for another 90-point ride or two during the first seven rounds of the World Finals, starting Friday!
The PBR World Finals spans two consecutive weekends, Oct. 30-Nov. 1 and Nov. 5-8 at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus. To get tickets, call 866-PBR.SHOW or visit UNLVTickets.com. You can also visit www.pbr.tv for recaps and video clips of everything happening during the Finals.
The Cowboy Militia Pro Team also includes three stars headed to the Wrangler NFR in December - defending PRCA world champion heeler Randon Adams and bull riders Zack Oakes and Colin McTaggart.
