LeMond shatters record at Timed-Event Championship
On the last day of action during the 2010 Wrangler Timed Event Championship of the World, fans witnessed something never before done at the event.
Cowboy Militia Pro Team member JoJo LeMond of Andrews, Texas, enlisted the help of fellow Cowboy Militia endorsee (and 2008 world champion heeler) Randon Adams to shatter the heading record with a 4.5-second run. He broke the previous record of 5.1 seconds, set by B.J. Campbell in 2002.
How talented is this guy? LeMond also set the competition's heeling record in 2009 with his 4.9 - second effort with Matt Sherwood on the heel end. You could say we're proud.
LeMond wrapped up his 2010 timed-event campaign in third place, having roped and wrestled his way to a time over five rounds of 358.3 seconds. He earned $15,000 for that ranking, along with a $3,000 bonus for putting up the fifth-fastest round of the entire event - a 52.2-second effort on five head of livestock in the fourth round.
The Wrangler Timed Event Championship will air as a special event on RFD-TV's "Beyond Rodeo Show with Susie Dobbs," which airs at 12:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (CT) on April 29.
