Cooper "represented" at Superstar Shootout
CM Pro Team member Clint Cooper outlasted all but one at Joe Beaver's 2009 SuperStar Shootout, held with the B&R Arena Bash and BBQ Cookoff in New Waverly, Texas on May 9.
Joe B. calls it "The Quick and the Dead" because it's a winner-take-all elimination-style shootout between eight of the best calf ropers in the world.
It turned into a gunfight in the 10th and final round between Clint and future Hall-of-Famer Trevor Brazile, after they bested the six other invited superstars. Clint, who had to be 7.12 to beat Trevor, missed trying to go for the win.
Clint and his younger brother, Clif, have their hammers cocked! Clint won the Mineral Wells, Texas, PRCA rodeo the same weekend with a 16.3 on two head, and Clif won the first round at Redding, Calif., on May 14 with a smoking 7.3.
